Mr. Nicholas H. Bubanas, 81, formerly of Lowell passed away Wednesday April 16th at the West Roxbury V.A. Hospital.
Mr. Bubanas was born October 11, 1926 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of the late Harry and Marina(Kanteles) Bubanas.
He was educated through the Lowell schools. Mr. Bubanas served his country during World War II in the army with the 184th Infantry Cannon Company.
Upon his return he worked for the Richard Company of Boston as a branch manager selling encyclopedias’. He later went on to own and operate Nick’s Delivery service of Dracut delivery packages for over 20 years.
He was a member of the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut.
Mr. Bubanas is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Margaret(Crispo) Bubanas of Lowell; a son, Andrew Bubanas of Bridgeton, Maine; three daughters, Catherine Blydenburgh , Maureen Chartier , Maryellen Schaefer and her husband William all of Lowell; a sister in law, Peggy Bubanas of Lowell; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his long lifetime friend Paul Kyriazos.
He was the brother to the late Peter, Charles, Andrew, and John Bubanas.
Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 10am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut at 11 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery , Lowell.
