Norman F. "Buster" Colton, 79, of 87 Maple Street, Franklin, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Lancaster Community Hospital in Lancaster California following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Ann E. (Lyons) Colton, who died in 2002.
Born in Boston, August 22, 1928 a son of the late Francis J. and Cora M. (Provenshira) Colton he formerly lived in Newton, before moving to his home on Maple Street in Franklin in 1962.
He was a graduate of Newton High School, and until his retirement, worked as a mechanical engineer for Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Corporal, and was honorably discharged in December, 1952.
He was a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, the Medway VFW, the Franklin Senior Citizens, the AARP, and was a former member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
His hobbies and interests included playing pool, chess & checkers, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots fan.
He is survived by 4 sons: John F. Colton of Lancaster, CA, James R. of Santa Barbara, CA, Michael P. of Ithica, NY, and Matthew J. Colton of N. Berwick, ME. He also leaves 11 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Saturday, April 19, at 10:00 AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, (www.franklinfuneral.com) Rev. John Potter will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery.
