Obituary

Warren L. "Rib" Hall of New Harbor, ME and Mystic, CT, 92, husband of Phyllis H. Hall, passed away April 17, 2008. Born July 4, 1915 in Waterbury, CT, son of Lamont Andrew and Marion Sibley Hall.

Rib graduated St. Margaret's McTernan (Chase Collegiate) School, The Taft School, and Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity and Mystical Seven, an honorary society. During World War II, he served in the Navy 28 months, mostly in the Pacific in LCI's, retiring as LT JG.

After working for Stanley Works 15 years as District Sales Manager in the New York office, and living in Fairfield, CT, he joined John Ahlbin and Sons (JASON), a manufacturer of scissors and shears in Bridgeport, retiring as Vice President in 1975. He then lived full-time in his beloved New Harbor, ME, and created Rib Hall's Educational Sales, representing manufacturers of school supplies in New England, retiring December 31, 2003.

He was a member of NSSEA (National School Supplies and Equipment Association), serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, attending his 50th consecutive sales and trade show in 2006. In 1989, he received the first David McCurrach Distinguished Service Award.

Rib's greatest joy in life was sales, starting in grade school selling pads and pencils. As a long-time Red Sox fan, another great joy was their World Series wins in 2004 and 2007.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Catlin Hall, son Carter Bailey "Toby" Hall, and brother Sibley Andrew Hall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Candace Catlin Hall of Southington, CT and Cindy and husband Steve Brackett of New Harbor, ME, four grandchildren, and stepsons Michael H., William (Bo) and Jonathan McBee and their families.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Harbor Methodist Church, New Harbor, ME 04554, or The Taft School, 110 Woodbury Road, Watertown, CT 06795.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mystic Congregational Church. A later celebration of his life will be
held in New Harbor, ME.
