HUDSON, NH: Virginia L. “Ginny” (Orff) (Kennedy) Ward, age 80, a Hudson, NH resident for the past 12 years, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital Northeast in Waltham.
She was the wife of Kenneth E. Ward, with whom she celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on December 7, 2007 and the late Joseph F. Kennedy, who died March 4, 1989.
Born in Brookline, MA on January 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Virgil C. and Margaret E. (Morrison) Orff.
Ginny was raised in Brookline, attended Brookline schools and graduated from Brookline High School in 1944.
Mrs. Ward dedicated her life to caring for her family. In her earlier years she worked for the former Hood Rubber Company.
Ginny resided in Tewksbury, MA for many years until moving to Hudson, NH in 1996.
According to her family, she enjoyed many activities especially bowling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Dale Cormier of Tewksbury and Dianne Kennedy of Nashua, NH; one step-daughter, Janette Powers and her husband Richard of Wilmington; one son, Dean Kennedy of Athens, ME; five grandchildren, Adam and Eric Cormier, Ashley Kennedy, Katie and Alan Piper; one step-granddaughter; Laurie Finne of Wilmington; one brother, Virgil Orff of Milford, NH; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ward was the sister of the late Evelyn Leonardo.
Calling hours Friday morning, April 18th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by her funeral service to be held at the funeral home. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
