Obituary

Amesbury, MA – Karl E. Cossar, 90, died Monday April 14, 2008 at the Amesbury Village and Nursing Rehabilitation Center.
A long time Methuen resident he was born in Vermont, son of George and Pleasance (Keys) Cossar.

Karl was a former resident of Methuen living on Pleasant Valley Street.
For 21 years was an aircraft mechanic for the U.S. Government stationed at Hanscom Field and Bedford Air Force Base..
Karl was a communicant of Saint Lucy’s Parish in Methuen.

During world war II he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of S/SGT.
Karl was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School class of “1935” in Methuen.
He was a former member of the East End Community Club of Methuen, and enjoyed gardening and all outdoor work.

Mr. Cossar was the widower of Winifred (Hazeldine) Cossar who died March 26th of this year.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Nancy E. and husband George Scott of Salem, NH, son’s Alan E. and wife Carrollin Cossar of Texas, and John “Barry” and wife Kathleen Cossar of Haverhill one brother Robert Cossar of Derry, NH, and sister Edyth Hupper of Derry, NH
6 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Karl was predeceased by his son Stephen.

Also special thanks to the staff of Amesbury Village, Beacon Hospice, Jane, Ray, and Carey Ann Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock in Saint Lucy’s Parish with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 3-7 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street of Methuen.
