New Bedford – Lourdes (Braga) Peixoto, age 73, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Jose Peixoto of New Bedford. Mrs. Peixoto was the sister of Idalina Frias of New Bedford and Maria Helena Rosaninha of Canada. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peixoto was born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal. She was a daughter of the late Manuel Medeiros Braga and Maria Estrella (Barbosa) Braga. Mrs. Peixoto was formerly employed as a stitcher at various clothing manufacturers.
Mrs. Peixoto’s wake will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Wednesday from 2 – 4 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Please omit flowers. Burial will take place in Canada at the convenience of the family.
