Fred Adolphus Bristol, 54, of Pelham died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Evans Pollock will officiate with burial to follow in New River Baptist Church Cemetery. Leon Turner, Tommy Tawzer, Billy Joe Tucker, Lamar Griffin, Timmy Hamilton and David Phillips will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Bristol was born on September 10, 1953 in Tift County and was the son of William Fred Bristol and Irene Wilson Bristol, both deceased. He was a retired hardware store salesman and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Pelham.
Mr. Bristol is survived by his wife, Sally Knight Bristol of Pelham; one son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Jennifer Bristol of Bainbridge; one brother, Horace Durley of Brookfield; one sister, Rena Ball of Albany; and one granddaughter, Cheyenne Bristol of Bainbridge.
