Funeral from The J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, Avon at 9 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11.15 am. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Mr. Lemay died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from injuries suffered after being struck by a Motor vehicle on North Main Street in Brockton. Born in Dorchester, son of the late Henry W. and Anna E. (McIntyre) Lemay. Avon resident since 1950. Raised and educated in Wollaston. Graduate of North Quincy High School.
During WW II he served in the US Army Corps of Engineers with Coast Artillery Corps.Following the war he remained in active reserve and retired as Lt.Col. after 28 years Of commissioned service.
He was retired from General Flooring in Weymouth where he had worked for many years. He was a member of 3rd Degree Knights of ColumbusSt. Michael’s Avon, Retired Officers Association, Veterans Assoc. First Corps CadetsOf Boston, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8892 in Avon. Member of the original building committee for Blue Hills Regional Vocational Technical High School in Canton. Member of St. Michael’s Church where he taught CCD.
Survived by his wife of of 59 years. One daughter Judy J. Tabaroni of Brockton 1 Granddaughter Jill P. Tabaroni of Roslindale Many nieces and nephews Brother of the late Francis Lemay.
