Georgianna (Almeida) Bento, 92, of Columbia, SC died April 10, 2008 at White Oak Manor.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Bento.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Enos) Almeida, she lived in New Bedford all her life until moving to Columbia in 2005.
Mrs. Bento was formerly employed by Stop & Shop for many years before retiring at the age of 89.
She was a special education volunteer in South Carolina.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Bradshaw of Columbia; a son, Mark Bento of Wyckoff, NJ; four grandchildren, Brian, Stacey, Troy and Lori; and nieces & nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Friday, April 18th at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, April 17th from 7-9 PM.
