Worcester- Joseph P. Dusavage, 91, formerly of 9 Shannon Street, died Friday, Feb. 21, in Christopher House, after an illness.
His wife of 62 years, Helen T. (Priestly) Dusavage, died in 1999. He leaves two daughters, M. Carolyn Cournoyer of Grafton and Joan Dusavage of Worcester; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Adolph Dusavage, and two sisters, Mary Kellogg and Nellie Izbicki, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Michael and Mary (Greska) Dusavage and graduated from Classical High School.
Mr. Dusavage was a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1969.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving as a sergeant in the European Theater.
Mr. Dusavage was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Parish, the St. Gabriel Postal Guild, and was Past President of the Lithuanian Social Club.
The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 24, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
