Obituary

Rodney B. Clifford passed away at home on April 11, 2008 at the age of 87. Mr. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Adeline (Ferrante) Clifford, his daughter, Madeline Ventresca and her husband Michael of Braintree and his son Kenneth Clifford and his wife Janet of S. Weymouth. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Rodney was born in Boston, as a child he grew up in Uxbridge and graduated form Uxbridge High School; he lived in Boston for 20 years and Quincy for 27 years before moving to S. Weymouth for 10 years. Mr. Clifford was an Army Veteran during World War II. After he was discharged he went in the shoe business before becoming a postal clerk at the Boston Postal Exchange for 20 years, retiring in 1983. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday April 14 at 8:30 A.M. the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 55 Commercial St. Weymouth Landing at 9:30 A.M and the Visiting Hours on Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday at 1:45 P.M. Donations may be made in Rodney’s memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr. Braintree, MA 02185-9060.
