
LOWELL--Lillian Josephine (Dugan) Purcell, 93, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of the city, died Wednesday afternoon, April 9th at Saints Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Joseph C. Purcell, who died in 1997.
Born in Boston on March 22, 1915, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Bradley) Dugan and was educated in the Watertown schools. She lived in the Boston area for many years before moving to Lowell 58 years ago.
Mrs. Purcell was employed for over 20 years as a bookkeeper at the Tewksbury State Hospital. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara A. and John Lockhart of Olympia, WA; and Elinor F. and Michael Burns of Lowell; two grandsons: Michael and Christopher Lockhart of WA; and a great granddaughter: Kinsey Joe Lockhart also of WA.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 until 7pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 12:30pm at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH.
