LEICESTER: Doris L. (Walden) Dudley, 85, of 11 Harberton Drive died Tuesday, April 8 in her home after an illness.
Her husband Stephen E. Dudley died in 2003. She leaves three sons David A. and his wife Beth Dudley of Ocean Point, Maine, Daniel A. and his wife Madeleine Dudley of North Oxford, Dean A. and his wife Rhonda Dudley of North Oxford, a daughter Dorothy A. Dudley of Worcester, two grand daughters Miranda L. & Rebecca A. Dudley of North Oxford, a sister Betty J. and her husband Frank Pease of Brewster and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dudley was born in Worcester, daughter of Lorton C. and Lillian M. (Hilton) Walden. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She was Assistant Treasurer and a Corporator at Leicester Savings Bank were she worked for 40 years before retiring. She also worked part time at Leicester Junior College in the Library. She started her career at Worcester Mutual Insurance Company. She was a member of Leicester First Congregational Church, Stella Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Order of Rainbow and recipient of their Grand Cross of Color. Also, Treasurer of Leicester Samaritan Association, Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother, Leicester Red Hat Society and Senior Citizen Club of Leicester. She was an avid traveler.
Funeral services and burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Leicester First Congregational Church, P.O.
