Obituary

Renzo P. "Mike" Michielutti, retired civil engineer, of Woburn died Tuesday, April 8t". He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Patricia Ann (Collins) Michielutti.

He was born in Cavasso Nuovo, Udine, Italy, the son of the late Tomaso and Pierina (Francescon) Michielutti. He came to the United States at 9 years of age, with his mother and sister, to join his father and brothers in Boston.

He enlisted in the Army Air Force while still in high school, and after graduating from the Boston Trade High Electrical Course, he served in WWII as radio operator and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. After WWII he worked in his father's trade as a Terrazzo Mechanic while attending Northeastern University on the GI Bill, graduating as a civil engineer and working for the Army Corps of Engineers in the Hydrology Branch. After retirement he volunteered as an AARP tax aide at Woburn and Stoneham Senior Centers.

Mike was a member of bowling and golf leagues, both at work and in Woburn city leagues and was a recent member of the Minuteman Rollers bowling team. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, working in his yard and tending the gardens. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and took great interest and pleasure in the activities of his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Thomas Jay Michielutti and his wife Margaret of York, PA, Linda Marie Loreth and her husband Michael of Woburn, James Peter Michielutti of Lynn, and Frank Andrew Michielutti and his fiance Elzbietta Kos of Carlisle. Also surviving are his grandchildren Steven Joseph Loreth, Roger Allan Michielutti, Mark William Loreth and Carl Andrew Michielutti, In addition, he is survived by his sisters Norma and Louise and was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Maria, Bruno and Dino.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St, Woburn on Saturday, April 12 at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Anthony Church, 851 Main St, Woburn at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
