New Bedford MA, Joseph M. Soares age 91 years, died Tuesday April 8, at home after a long illness. He was the husband of the Maria R. (Rita) Soares of New Bedford. He was the father of Henry Soares of Portugal, Joseph Soares of Dallas TX., Fidel Soares, Adam Soares, Elizabeth Santiago,and Lillian Soares Broughton all of Waterbury, CT, Aurura Davis of CA., and Diana Deleo of Thomaston,CT. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Soares was the son of the late Miquel M. and Domingas Soares. He was employed a Merchant Marine. Mr. Soares was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
His Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Friday at 8:00 A.M. with a service at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:15 A.M. Visiting hours will be prior to services.
