
Mary (Costa) Perry, formerly of Sanford Rd and Greenwood Terrace, Westport, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Catholic Memorial Home in her 89th year. She was the wife of the late John T. Perry, they were married for 54 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Raposa) da Costa and Antonio da Costa. For many years she was employed as a seamstress at Anderson Little Co. and later as owner / operator of The Petite Beauty Salon in Westport.
She is survived by her niece and caretakers Delores Barandas and her husband Benjamin; their children Donna Ferry and Laurie Drabble and her husband Charlie; their children Westley and Elliot Drabble; and a niece Rosalie Welchman.
Other survivors are 3 nieces: Beatrice Couture of North Cape, WI, Doris Randall of Danville, VT and Lorraine Day of Northfield, VT; 2 nephews: Richard Couture of Danville, VT and John Matoes of Fall River; a step-daughter: Catherine Humphreys and her husband Mel pf Pittsburgh, PA; 2 step-granddaughter: Debbie Castagna and her husband Greg and their 2 children of Mesa, AZ; and a step-grandson: David Humphreys of Glendale, AZ.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Raposa, Evangeline Matoes and Diana Couture.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Thursday, at the Potter Funeral Home from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
