WORCESTER-Helen F. (Ulewicz) Spedding, 88, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 5th in The Hermitage, Golden Living Center in the Alzheimer’s Unit. Her husband, Harry Spedding died in 1973. She leaves her son, Richard D. and his wife Carol A. Spedding of Sterling; a grandson, Daniel M. Spedding of Fitchburg; and a granddaughter, Christine J. and her husband Ian Stratton of Sterling.
She was born in her home on 39 King Philip Road, the daughter of Martin and Victoria Ulewicz and lived there for 80 years. Mrs. Spedding was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce. She was employed by the former Sawyer Lumber as a cashier and had previously been employed by Vogue Wallpaper in Greendale. Mrs. Spedding was a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She worked hard at her jobs, in her daily life tasks and particularly took a lot of pride in maintaining her yard and property.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 9th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home.
