John F. Lucey, 93, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA died at his home on Thursday, April 3rd, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Lucey was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on November 10th, 1914 to Michael and Ellen (Riley) Lucey. He attended the Bruce Grammar School and was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of 1932. He worked as a Truck Driver for the Teamsters Union Local #49 for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church in the Tower Hill Section of Lawrence, Massachusetts. According to his family he loved to watch base ball and foot ball and that he loved ballroom dancing as well.
He is the husband of the late Nora (Pineau) Lucey. He is survived by 4 children: John F. Jr. and his wife Susan Lucey of Middleton, MA, George D. Lucey and his wife Patricia English of Haverhill, MA, Ellen Polizzotti and Ernie Bourassa of Lawrence, MA, and his favorite daughter: Patricia and her husband Kenny DiGrazia of Pelham, N.H. as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, also one niece and one nephew.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 at 11:00AM in St. Augustine Chapel at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA. 01841. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
