DRACUT - Michael A . Blazonis, 62, a resident of Dracut, died Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 at home.
He was born on March 7th, 1946, the son of the late Anthony and the late Mary (Stefanik) Blazonis. He graduated from Lowell High School in Lowell.
Mr. Blazonis was employed by Wang Laboratories where he worked as a computer programer for many years. Previous to that he was employed as a firefighter by the Town of Chelmsford.
Michael was the Past Commander and Past Quarter Master of the Polish American Veterans Club in Lowell. He also served as the State Adjutant and the longest serving local adjutant for the Polish American Veterans Club. Mr. Blazonis was a lifetime member of the Polaski Club in Lowell, a member of the Dom Polski in Lowell, and a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Pelham, NH.
In his free time he enjoyed cooking, singing, playing horseshoes, and watching the Three Stooges. Michael was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amie J. Blazonis of Londonderry, NH and MaryElizabeth Blazonis of Andover; his sister, Janis Nein and her husband John of Pelham, NH; five grandchildren, Tate and Lolah Blazonis, Dean, Madison, and Lilly Haggett; his nephew Garrison Nein of Dover, NH; many cousins, and friends.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Aveneu, DRACUT on Saturday, April 5th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Polish American Veterans Club, Scholarship Fund, 201 Coburn Street, Lowell, MA 01850.
