Lois E. Hogan, 93, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, April 6 at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Reeves and Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Hogan was born April 20, 1914 in Ocilla to the late John Henry and Emma Reeves Moore. She lived in Ben Hill and Irwin counties all of her life. Mrs. Hogan was former House Dorm Mother and Dorm Director at the University of Georgia and an infirmary nurse at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and a former member of the American Legion Auxillary.
Mrs. Hogan is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Maxine & Mack Spinks of Jefferson; stepchildren, Hubert (LaVerne) Hogan of Fitzgerald and Myrtice Miller of Valdosta; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Irene Moore and Mildred Moore both of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lee Hogan.
