DRACUT - Albert E. Leonard, 84, a longtime Dracut resident, died Wednesday April 2nd at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Melvenia J. (Krisiak) Leonard to whom he was married for 61 years.
He was born in Cornish, NH on June 28, 1923 and was a son of the late George H. and Elsie M. (Robbins) Leonard. He received his education in Farmington, NH schools.
Mr. Leonard served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 38 years as a machine operator by General Electric.
In his free time he enjoyed traveling and bowling.
He was a member of the Christ Church United of Dracut and was a member of the Masons Ancient York Lodge in Lowell.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Alberta (Leonard) Ross of Dracut; a grandson Gregory Ross and his wife Karen of Westfield; two great grandchildren Andrew and Emily Ross of Westfield; two sister Florence Seavey of Rochester, NH, and Louise Weatherbee of Nashua, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late George Leonard, Henry Leonard, Raymond Leonard, Margaret Chaplin, and Hattie Leonard.
Friends may call at Christ Church United of Dracut, 10 Arlington St., on Sunday from 4 until 7 PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Church.
