James V. Salamone, 78 years of Abington died Monday March 31, 2008 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was born in Waltham and raised in Quincy, a son of the late Raimondo and Serafina (Tihronie) Salamone. For many years he had lived in Braintree and Abington. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army. He was a carpenter by trade but was also artistically talented. He enjoyed drawing, painting, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a son, Thomas J. Salamone of Middleboro, a daughter, Laurie Bettinson and her husband Dana of Carver. He was the brother of Theresa Torrance of Carver, William Cappoli of Halifax and the late Josephine Tangherlini, Salvatore Salamone, Charles Salamone and Nellie Salamone. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte123) Brockton Saturday 12 to 2pm.
