DUDLEY - Albert J. Courteau, 79, of 20 Filo Road, formerly of Worcester died Tuesday, February 11 in Kindred Hospital, Green Cove Springs, Florida after an illness.
His wife of 49 years Doris O. (Berthiaume) Courteau died in 1991. He leaves three daughters Carol A. Best of Petersham, Patricia M. Beland of Dudley and Diane J. Niford of Worcester; two brothers Armand Courteau of Worcester and Francis Courteau of Kentucky; two sisters Rita Plante of Manchaug and Ella Archer of St. Petersburg, FL; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and his companion Elise Cote of 11 years. He was born in Auburn son of Wilfred and Virginia (Mathieu) Courteau and lived in Worcester for many years before living both in Dudley and Florida.
Mr. Courteau was a machinist for Heald Machine Company for 28 years, retiring in 1982. He was the manager of Paramount Drum & Bugle Corps for many years.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23 at 12:30 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.RoyFuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street, Worcester. A private burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester at a later date. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 23 from 12 noon to 12:30 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
