Dorothy S. (Duff) Hajj, a resident of Andover, Massachusetts for more than 51 years and beloved wife of Thomas J. Hajj, died at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home on March 17, 2008. She was 81 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on March 31, 1926, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Lynch) Duff. She was employed for many years by the Tyre Rubber Company and also the Andover School Department. Dorothy was a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church of Andover and was a graduate of St. Augustine School and Punchard High School.
She will be sorely missed by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Hajj, one daughter and one son-in-law; Judith and her husband Paul Romano of Haverhill, two sons and one daughter-in-law; Thomas M. and his wife Valerie Hajj of Methuen and David J. Hajj of Andover, five grandchildren; Robert and his wife Beatrice Carney, Monica Carney and Thomas, Jeffrey and Samuel Hajj, one sister; Elizabeth Silva of Andover and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 10AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
