Robert G. Grimmett of North Andover, beloved husband of Martha J. (Pyteraf) Grimmett, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Sunday, March 16, 2008. He was 70 years old.
Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on February 10, 1938, he was the beloved son of the late Robert B. and Annie (Gray) Grimmett. Mr. Grimmett earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Engineering from RPI and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp. He was a long time member of the Christ Church of Andover and a member of the American Society of Quality Control. He was also a Malcolm Baldrige Examiner. Mr. Grimmett worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer for many years at Textron Systems Division in Wilmington.
Besides his beloved wife, Martha, Robert will be sorely missed by his loving daughter; Leslie J. Grimmett of North Andover, on son; Robert A. Grimmett of North Andover, cherished granddaughter; Sophia Grimmett, one sister; Judy Grimmett of Georgia, mother-in-law; Peggy Pyteraf of New Bedford, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service was celebrated in the Christ Church of Andover on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
