Gloria (Cohen) Davis of Winthrop passed away peacefully at home overlooking the ocean after a long illness on March 29, 2008.
Born in Chelsea on January 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sarah & Samuel Cohen. She was a retired Registered Nurse who worked for over 40 years at the Chelsea Soldiers Home.
Mrs. Cohen was the beloved wife of 41 years to the late Edward R. Davis. She was the adored mother of Marjorie Davis & her husband Joseph Nazoa of San Francisco, CA & Susan Peters & her husband Charles of Winthrop; step-grandmother of Rachel Peters of Savannah, GA; sister of the late Lila Carithers & Dr. Abraham Cohen & his late wife Isabel of AZ; dear aunt of David & Jonathan Cohen of TX & Jennifer Levin & her husband Scott of CA; great-aunt of Jade, Grace, & Simon.
She was a proud member of the "Has Been's" for over 60 years & Hadassah. Mrs. Cohen was a caregiver her entire life who brought joy & comfort to all who knew her. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past 18 months with good humor & dignity, always placing others before herself.
Funeral service in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Everett. Memorial observance at the home of Susan & Charles Peters, Winthrop through Friday.
