LONDONDERRY, NH: Winthrop “Mickey” H. McClure, III, 46, died Saturday March 29, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Laura (Fitzgerald) McClure. Mr. McClure was born on April 19, 1961 in Westwood, NJ, a son of Eileen (Griffith) and Winthrop H. McClure, Jr. He had resided in Londonderry for 16 years; prior to that he lived in Connecticut and Arizona. Mr. McClure worked as an engineer for Volterra Semiconductor Corporation, which is based out of Fremont, CA. Mr. McClure enjoyed coaching his children’s teams, and loved spending his free time with his family. He was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church in Londonderry. Mr. McClure graduated from Villanova University in 1983 and then went on to earn his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
Besides his wife Laura of 20 years, Mr. McClure is survived by his three children whom he loved dearly; Kevin P. McClure, Ryan T. McClure and Emily E. McClure, all of Londonderry; his parents Eileen and Winthrop H. McClure, Jr. of Columbus, NJ and Old Lyme, CT; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Pokusa and her husband James of Cinnaminson, NJ, Ellen Coughlin and her husband Chris of West Caldwell, NJ and Colleen DeTurk and her husband Charles of Newark, DE, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. McClure also leaves his father and mother in law, James and Nancy Fitzgerald of Londonderry and Old Lyme, CT; a sister in law, Amy Marsh and her husband Andrew of Londonderry; and two brothers in law, James Fitzgerald and his wife Roula of Derry and Paul Fitzgerald and his wife Heloisa of Scituate, MA.
Calling hours were held on Thursday April 3rd from 4-8 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Mark’s Church, corner of Mammoth and South Road in Londonderry; burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
