Obituary

Worcester—Henry G. Shooshan, died Friday, March 28, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. He leaves his wife, Irene M. (Belazarian) Shooshan; sister, Lucille Demirjian of Waltham; daughter-in-law, Susan L. Shooshan of Shrewsbury; grandson, Mark A. Shooshan of Worcester; and several nieces & nephews. His son, Robert G. Shooshan, died in 1997 and his brother, George H. Shooshan, also predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Araxie (Choolfaian) and George Shooshan, graduated from South High School, and attended Northeastern University. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Henry was a locksmith for the City of Worcester for 31 years. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and the parish council, Men’s Club, AVAKS, and Knights of Vartan. He was also a member of the Worcester Municipal Workers Union. Henry loved sports, and was a loving and caring man who always wore a smile.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 2. Prior to the funeral, a calling hour will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Memorial Week will be observed from April 2 – 6.
