Obituary

Isabel E. Mafera, 83, of Londonderry, NH, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. Mrs. Mafera was born in Tacoma, WA on November 16, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Betty (Ingebrektsen) Goore. She was a resident of Londonderry since 1991, formerly living in Manchester, NH and Derry. Mrs. Mafera was a graduate of Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA. She had been employed for the Jodi Shoe Co. in Derry and more recently as an office manager for NH Easter Seals in Manchester. Mrs. Mafera was a life member of the Halcyon Club in Derry.
She is survived by her son, John W. Wood and his wife Patsy of Londonderry; her daughter, Susan Kapala and her husband Fred of Manchester; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Picha of Tacoma, WA and Bernice Boyd of Seattle, WA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Norman Wood in 1986 and her second husband Richard Mafera in 1991. Mrs. Mafera greatly enjoyed her family, and sitting on the porch.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, with a service that followed at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
