LOWELL—Evelyn B. (Johnson) Bean, 84 years old, died Friday morning at the Tewksbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late John J. Bean, Sr., who died in 1968.
She was born in Lowell, on March 10, 1918, a daughter of the late Tuval S. and Isabelle (McIntyre) Johnson, and was educated in the Billerica Public School System.
Mrs. Bean was employed as an Assembler by Teradyne, of Lowell. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and more recently attended the First United Baptist Church, in Lowell. She held membership in the Gamma Beta Class of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Puritan Chapter #54 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Judith and Andrew Shanks, of Rochester, MI; two sons and daughters-in-law: John J. and Elke Bean, of Zephyr Hills, FL and Richard and Dee-Ann Bean, of Merrimack, NH; a sister and brother-in-law: Esther and Richard Conant, of Belmont, NH; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 until 7 PM on Thursday, FEbruary 20th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street. (Rte. 38). Her funeral service will be held Friday, FEbruary 21st, at 10 AM at the funeral home, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery.
