
Maurice F. Paquin, 78, formerly of Westford, passed away Tuesday March 25th at Massachusetts General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 16, 1929 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of the late Albert and Evelina(Dery) Paquin. Maurice was educated through the Lowell schools.
He served his country in the Army as a paratrooper, and was honorably discharged on October 6, 1949. Upon his return he began working at White Electrical as a licensed electrician and later went on to receive his master electrician license. He then open in 1958 his own business Paquin Electrical in which he operated for over thirty years up until his retirement.
He was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. Maurice loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Angeline(Koutsonikolis) Paquin of Lowell, two daughters, Katherine Allen and her husband Stephen of Dracut, Doreen Oakland and her husband William of Littleton, Ma; four granddaughters, Melanie Salort and her husband Javier of Auburn, Ma., Melissa Burns and her husband Robert of Palm Beach, Fl., Kristina and Michelle Oakland of Littleton; a sister, Pauline Duffy of Lowell; a sister in law, Cecile Paquin of Andover; a brother in law , David Pekkala of Lowell; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins and close friends. Maurice was the brother to the late Ralph Paquin, Raymond Paquin, Doris Paquin, Evelyn Pekkala, Madeline Paquin, and brother in law to the late Mary Paquin.
Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral will take place on Friday from the Funeral Home at 9am to be followed by a service at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell at 10am. Interment in Westlawn II Cemetery.
