Dominic A. Genovese, 80, died Sunday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Burlington, after a brief illness.
Mr. Genovese was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Mariano and the late Carmela Genovese.
For many years he worked in the construction industry. A Medford resident for more than 40 years, Dominic owned and operated Genovese Market on Main St., Medford from 1973 – 1983.
He is survived by three daughters: Paula Costa of Reading, Deborah Bishop of Marlborough, and Brenda Byrne of Reading; one son: Mario Genovese of Wilmington.He leaves one brother, Frank Genovese of Revere. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Dominic was the brother of the late Charles Genovese, Sarah Ferullo, Lena DiFronzo,Joseph Genovese, Viola Marino, Gloria Adomi, Mafalda DelTrecco, Marie Savoia, and Pauline De Angelis.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Thursday at 9 AM.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
