Dorothy A. (Baker) Delaney, 83 died Thursday March 27th in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James T. Delaney. Dorothy was born in Weymouth, brought up in Braintree and a graduate of Braintree High and Somerville School of Nursing. She was employed at many hospitals on the South Shore as a registered nurse. Dorothy was a Whitman resident since 1968. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Church, past president of the Ladies Sodality, and a member of the Lady of Fatima. Dorothy liked to read, loved animals, especially her cat Angel.
She is survived by her sister, Marion Cunningham of West Roxbury, her niece Sandra Fencer of Whitman, her nephew Paul Cunningham and his wife Nora of Winchester, also her great niece Sarineh Cunningham and great nephew Arsen Cunningham both of Winchester.
Her Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 1st at 9:15am from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt 58 at the Rotary circle) Whitman, MA., followed by a 10:00AM mass in the Holy Ghost Church .Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery
