Charles Harlon Swift Charles Harlon Swift, 87, Clarksville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Montgomery Care and Rehab Center. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. E. G. Sims and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday and from noon until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 1, 1920 in Montgomery County, son of the late Walter Bolton Swift and Dorothy Scott Swift. Mr. Swift was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was past master of Masonic Lodge #761 and was past president of Scottish Rites. Mr. Swift was very active in many city endeavors including being a member of the Downtown Civitan Club for 50 years and serving on the board of the Salvation Army. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Dawson Swift; three sons, Bruce D. Swift, Richard Harlon Swift, (Jennie B.), and C. Phillip Swift (Jennie V.) all of Clarksville; a sister, Joyce Jones, Cunningham, TN; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dawson Swift, Dr. George Lee, Michael Swift, Karl Enderle, Bobby Jones, and Clifton Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Downtown Civitan Club and the Loyalty Sunday School Class.
