Doris Y. Lacombe, 79, of Mendon Rd., Cumberland, formerly of Manville, died Friday at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of 57 years of Thomas J. Lacombe.
Born in North Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late Josephat and Yvonne (Lafleur) Lafleur.
Mrs. Lacombe was a communicant of St. James Church in Manville.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the St. John Vianney Bowling League in Cumberland, and the Cumberland Senior Center. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and was an avid reader.
Doris treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Denis T. Lacombe, of Manville, two daughters, Denise Y. Deguire, of Pascoag, and Louise T. Deneault, of Lincoln, a brother, Richard Lafleur, of NH, two sisters, Lucille Lafleur, and Lorraine Scotland, both of FL., 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Normand Lafleur.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, will be at a later date. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research/ Audrey Connolly Fund, c/o Women & Infants Hospital, 101 Dudley St., Providence, RI., 02905, or the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 3004, Warwick, RI., 02886.
