Claire M. Garceau, 80

Claire M. (Lataille) Garceau, 80, of Norton and Danby, Vermont departed this life on Tuesday March 25, 2008 after a long illness with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Marcel Garceau who passed away on June 5, 1982.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 6, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Letendre) Lataille.
She grew up in Pawtucket, was educated in Pawtucket schools and was a 1942 graduate of St. Cecilia’s School in Pawtucket. She furthered her education at the former Kenyon’s Business Academy also in Pawtucket.
Before semi-retiring in 1983, Mrs. Garceau was a Manager and a member of the Board of Directors of the former Fernandes Employees Credit Union in Norton for 20 years.
Claire was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and Holy Trinity Church in Danby, VT. She took great pleasure in raising her family and spending time with her children, her grandchildren and her great granddaughters.
She is survived by her devoted children; Daniel Garceau and his wife Pamela of Danby, Vermont, Diane Garceau of Norton and Suzanne Lovenbury and her husband Robert of Norton, her cherished grandchildren; Julie Beaulieu, Jennifer Laliberte and Robert and Melissa Lovenbury, her beloved great granddaughters Brittney and Skyler Beaulieu, Savannah and Claire Lovenbury and Madeline and Kendal Laliberte. She was the sister of Helene Menard of Colorado, Constance Baris of Central Falls, R.I., Ralph Lataille of South Carolina, Andre Lataille of Florida and the late Henry Lataille and Priscilla Blais, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday March 29th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St., Norton. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 28th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Claire’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
