Syble Belflower Pierce, 86, of Tifton died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Odum will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Willis, Lindsey Evans, Tommy Lamb, Ronnie Cone, John Falotico and Randall Carr. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Pierce was born on May 26, 1921 in Tift County and was the daughter of Jesse Belflower and Carrie Rebecca Cook Belflower, both deceased, She was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Pierce, Sr.; and several brothers and sisters. She was a retired clerk with Central Jewelers and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She had lived in Tifton all of her life.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Marsha Pierce of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Greg Caruso of Atlanta; two grandchildren and their spouses, Blake and Megan Pierce of Augusta, and Stephen and Dawn Harris of Atlanta; and three great grandchildren, Ella Pierce, Michael Harris and Olivia Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Tift Area.
