SALEM - Karolyn (Jazynka) McCarthy, 89, of Andover and formerly of Salem, died Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2008 at her residence.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig & Eufemia (Szczechowicz) Jazynka and was a resident on Andover for the past 30 years.
Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed for over 35 years in the offices of the General Electric Company in Lynn.
Karolyn is survived by one nephew, John J. Welch and his wife Nina of Bradford, one niece, Judith (Welch) Porter and her husband Steven of Danvers, a great niece, Jessica Welch of Danvers, 3 great nephews, Colin Welch of Haverhill, Edward Felker & his wife Claudia of Bradford and James Felker and his wife Melanie of Dracut. She was predeceased by a sister, Priscilla Welch and one nephew, David J. Welch, Jr.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
