E. Barbara (Canning) Shea, 91, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2008 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Shea. Born in Medford, she was a graduate of the Chevrus School in Malden. Mrs. Shea was a resident of Stoughton since 1956. She worked as a Fancy Packer for Necco Candy Company in Cambridge for over 30 years, retiring at age 65. Mrs. Shea was a member of the Confectionary and Baker’s Union at Necco. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and walking.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Claire M. Shea and Barbara A. Paukner and her husband Daniel, all of Stoughton. She was the sister of the late Francis Canning, Walter Canning, Loretta Danca, Clare Murray and Irene Griffin. She was the grandmother of Daniel Paukner, Robert Paukner and his wife Lorraine. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Jack Paukner.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, March 25 at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Omitted. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, 02368. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
