BEDFORD: Virginia C. Mackie, 95, of Hawthorne South in Bedford, died Friday March 21, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. She was the wife of the late Henry A. Mackie, Jr. who died in 1992.
Mrs. Mackie was born on October 19, 1912 in Christina, FL, a daughter of the late Laurence M. and Helena M. (Baird) Thomas. She had resided in Santa Rosa and Los Angeles, CA for 60 years until moving to Bedford, NH three years ago. Mrs. Mackie was interested in antiques, was involved with the Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa, CA and was known for her sense of humor.
She is survived by one daughter; Margaret C. Mackie-Ciancio and her husband Edward of Derry, NH; two sons; H. Arthur Mackie III and his wife Yolanda of Las Vegas, NV and Andrew S. Mackie of Glendora, CA; three grandchildren; Elizabeth S. Parry and her husband Jeremy Seibert of Manchester, NH, Stephanie A. Parry and her husband Gino Bona of Camden, Maine and Brian H. Mackie of Cucamonga, CA. Mrs. Mackie is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Samuel P. Seibert, Nathan P. Seibert, Lucia R. Bona, Quentin T. Bona, Mackenzie Mackie and Dillon J. Mackie; and three nephews. In addition to her husband of 52 years, Mrs. Mackie was predeceased by a brother, Baird Thomas.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Wednesday March 26th at 10 AM at the Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Rd., Derry, NH.
