Bernard J. “Bernie” Lynch, 78, passed away at home in Medford on March 20th, 2008. He was born in Boston on April 21st, 1929 to his parents John and Catherine (Meagher) Lynch. Bernie is well known in the City of Medford. He worked for many years as a custodian at the Medford Public Schools and at Medford City Hall. He also served as president of the Medford Public Schools Custodial Association. He is survived by his wife; Virgina A. (McGuire) Lynch; his children; Jim Lynch and his wife Dianne of Franklin, Lt. Col. David Lynch and his wife Leah of Italy, Bernard J. Lynch Jr. and his wife Marirose of Eastham, Mariam Gnieski and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury, Thomas Lynch and his wife Christine of Merrimack, NH and Ann Marie Lynch of Medford; and by his brother Michael Lynch and his wife Teeny of West Roxbury. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his sisters Mary Sennott and Anna Chmielinski. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Tuesday March 25th at 11:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 12:30 PM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday March 24th from 4-8 PM.
