John K. “Jack” Colby, 90 of Burlington, formerly of Medford, died Thursday in the Life Care Center Of Merrimack Valley Billerica, MA. Beloved husband of Irene (Maryanski) Colby with whom he shared more than 68 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, son of the late John and the late Anna (Nielson) Colby, he attended local schools. He was a Sheet Metal Machinist for many years. He was instrumental in the reconstruction of Medford Armory in 1992.
Known as a “jack of all trades” he continued working in the construction trades until the age of 85. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cruises, and winter vacationing in their mobile home in Florida for the past 16 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves 4 daughters, Beverly Ann Cain of Middleton, Roberta Bramante and her husband Frank of Middleton, Jaclynn Sulfaro and her husband Anthony of Burlington, Correne Fonzi and her husband Robert of Wakefield. Loving “Banky” of 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Anna Collings of Medford. Mr.Colby’s funeral service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
