Janice Nell McGee, 65, of Mystic died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, March 23, at the Ocilla Church Of God with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. McGee was born April 10, 1942 in Irwin County to Nellie Kitchens Broome and the late James Cleveland Broome. She lived in the Irwin community all of her life and was a member of the Ocilla Church Of God. Mrs. McGee was a former employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Colony House Restaurant and worked in the lunchroom for the Irwin County school system. She also worked for Weaver’s Peanut Mill and Hudson Produce.
Mrs. McGee is survived by her mother, Nellie Kitchens Broome of Ocilla; twin sister, Janet (James W.) Peacock of Irwinville and sister, Jacqueline (Jack) Ritch of Mystic as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gerald McGee.
