Obituary


Bedford– Jeanne J. (Savoie) (Chaput) Collins, 94 , died March 20, 2008 at Laurel Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Manchester on January 24, 1914 the daughter of Olivier and Blanche (Prince) Savoie and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
She worked in the shoe manufacturing industry.
Her family includes a son Richard Chaput, of Manchester.
She was predeceased by her husband, Shirley Collins in 1963, and a son Robert Chaput in 1996.
In Her Life: She had 2 grandchildren, Theresa Louise Desmarais of Manchester, Richard Chaput Jr., of PA; 6 greatgrandchildren, Michael and Benjamin Desmarais, of Manchester, Jason Chaput, of CT, and Crystle, Melissa and Ricky Chaput III, all of PA; 1 great greatgrandchild, Skylar of Manchester. She also leaves a niece, Eveline Provencher and 2 nephews, Donald and Paul Savoie; many cousins and friends; and June Barnaby, whom she loved like a daughter. She was also predeceased by 3 brothers, Leo, in 1972, Edgar in 1973, Raoul in 1990, and a sister Anita in 1992. The family would like to thank the staffs at the Laurel Center and Beacon Hospice for all the wonderful care they gave to Jeanne.
She was a Boston Redsox fan; she enjoyed music, doing search-a –word puzzles, bingo, pokeno, eating out, going for rides to the beach, and participated in activities at Laurel Center.
Services: Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St., Manchester.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
