William David (W. D.) Pendergrass, age 70, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008 at Grenada Lake Medical Center in Grenada, MS. He was born in Water Valley, MS to the late Aubrey and Ricie Eva Chandler Pendergrass. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the V. F. W. in Grenada, MS. Mr. Pendergrass was a member of First Baptist Church, Coffeeville, and was a former member of the Coffeeville Rescue Squad. He was self-employed as a house mover.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Sunday, March 23, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Truman Carter, Rev. Truman Scarbrough, Rev. James Caulder, and Rev. William Hodge presiding. The committal will be held in Elam Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS.
Mr. Pendergrass is survived by his wife, Patsy Odean Cofer Pendergrass of Coffeeville; three daughters, Deborah Kay (Robert)Aston of Bruce, MS, Donna Karen (David) Hill of Bruce, MS, and Dianne Kimberly (Eddie) Brewer of Coffeeville, MS; two sons, William David (Neysa) Pendergrass, Jr. of Forrest City, AR, and John Ransom Pendergrass of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Becky Ann Harrison of Houlka, MS and Particia Ann Aston of Water Valley, MS; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Aubrey Pendergrass and a sister, Marilyn Louise Pendergrass
