Olive E. Currier, 87, of Brentwood, NH, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Mrs. Currier was born in Derry, NH on January 15, 1921, a daughter of the late Edward A. and Alice L. (Marden) Towle. She was a resident of Brentwood for the past eight years, formerly living in Chester most of her life. Mrs. Currier was a graduate of Sanborn Seminary in Kingston, NH, class of 1938. She had been employed as a cook for many years. Mrs. Currier was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Derry.
She is survived by two daughters, Eleanor West of Chester; and Roberta Lounsbury of Loudon, NH; one son, Jay M. West, Sr. of Chester; four step daughters, Mary Ann White of Mason, NH, Cathy Lambert and Karen Camber both of Chester; and Effie Ford of Groton, MA; 27 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Louis E.J. Currier in 1973, and her first husband Ernest W. West in 1951.
Friends may call on Monday, March 24th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Adams Pond Rd., E. Derry. The burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Townsend, MA in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01710.
