Obituary




Gerald “Jerry” Alan Green, a resident of Peabody & formerly of Revere, entered into rest on March 19, 2008 at the Life Care Center of the North Shore. He was 72 years old. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Frances (Terban) Green & the father of the late Craig Steven Green who entered into rest in 1984.

Born in New York, the son of the late Louis & Hilda (Poretsky) Green, Jerry was raised & educated in Revere, graduating from Revere High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy on November 11, 1955 in Boston & served on the USS Casa Grande. He was honorably discharged in Norfolk, VA on August 13, 1957 with the rank of Seaman Apprentice. Jerry was employed as a salesman at York Ford in Saugus for many years. He was a dedicated family man who thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in numerous sports & other activities. Jerry was a sports enthusiast who was dedicated to the Boston professional sports teams, & was a member of the Germania-Revere Lodge of Masons.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Jodie Malatzky & her husband Larry of Hamilton & Lou Ann Brown of Wakefield; & his grandchildren, Jamie, Shane, & Hannah Malatzky & Joshua & Emma Brown.

Funeral services will be held in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Rabbi David Klatzker of Temple Ner Tamid will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tifereth Israel of Revere Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Jodie & Larry Malatzky, Hamilton on Saturday evening & after 2:00 PM on Sunday. Those wishing to remember Jerry may do so through memorial donations to a charity of one’s own choosing
