Nick Horner-Wright, 23, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in Derry. He was born in Derry on February 6, 1985, a son of Paul Wright and Leslie Horner-Wright. Nick was born and raised in Derry, and was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, class of 2003, where he participated in Allied Health. He was currently a senior at the University of Maine majoring in Biology. Nick was recently employed as a manager in training at USA Subs in Salem, NH, and had also worked part time at his families business, the Derry Counseling Service. He was a member of the First Parish Church in E. Derry. He enjoyed BMX biking, snowboarding, skateboarding, playing the guitar and helping others. He was well loved by many people and had a knack for making people laugh. Nick had a charisma about him, as you knew he was in the room with you. He was very compassionate and he touched people with his warmth and kindness, as he was a people person. Nick was also known as his family’s gentle giant.
In addition to his parents of Derry; he is survived by his sister, Gretchen Horner-Wright of Boston, MA; a step-brother, Peter Wright of Lawrence, KS; his paternal grandmother, Betty Withington of Laconia, NH; his maternal grandparents, George Horner and Nancy Merrill of Boxford, MA; two uncles, Mark Wright and his wife Linda of Gilford, NH, and Richard Horner and his wife Susan of Chandler, AZ; as well as three cousins, Jason, Andy, and John Wright. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Mary L. Horner, his paternal grandfather, Al Wright and his step grandfather, Robert Withington.
Calling hours were held on Friday, March 21st from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 10:00am in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry, followed by cremation.
