Obituary

Alice S. (Stanello) Hopson of Wellesley died suddenly March 17, 2008. She was 90 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. James E. Hopson.

Born in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Siame (Schultz) Stanello. A graduate of the University of Illinois, she has been a Wellesley resident for many years. She enjoyed reading and gardening and was a retired supervisor for the Wellesley College library.

She was the devoted mother of Robert E. Hopson and his wife Carol of Medway and Barbara L. Hopson of Ware. She was the sister of the late Charles Stanello and the cousin of Sandra Dicus of Austin, TX, Susan Overly of Naperville, IL and Babara Ohnick of Seattle, WA.

A memorial service will be held in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley, on Saturday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-1 PM. Interment services are private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Alice’s memory in the memory of her pets, Heidi and Levon, to the MSPCA Angell Animal Medical Center, 350 South Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
