Dr. James E. Hopson of Wellesley died suddenly March 17, 2008. He was 83 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice S. (Stanello) Hopson.
Born in Hopkinsville, KY, he was the son of the late Milam and Lois (King) Hopson. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and received his PhD in Physics from The Ohio State University in 1954. A Wellesley resident for many years, he was a retired Physicist for the Raytheon Company. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army.
He was the devoted father of Robert E. Hopson and his wife Carol of Medway and Barbara L. Hopson of Ware.
A memorial service will be held in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley, on Saturday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-1 PM. Interment services are private.
